In an interview for Vogue's February issue, Dakota Johnson talks about playing Anastasia Steele in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, including how others view her.

The romantic movie, adapted from E.L. James's best-selling book of the same name, has been highly anticipated by fans and now one of its stars is speaking up about her role in the movie.

In the Vogue interview, Johnson, 25, talks about how she felt about taking on the role and how it has changed her.

"I wanted to be involved because it's so different, and it's an intense love story," she said.

Johnson explained she does not regret taking part in the racy film despite the criticism it has received.

"I'm not the kind of person who is like, 'What have you done?!'" Johnson added. "I'm like, 'I love it!' "

The role of Anastasia Steele has Johnson as a naïve woman who is thrust into a world she was unaware of and learning to open up sexually.

The believability of the relationship between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey on-screen also depended on how Johnson interacted with her co-star.

"We couldn't offer her the part until we felt there was a definite chemistry between her and whoever was going to play the part of Christian," said director Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Once Jamie Dornan was picked to play Christian Grey, the two seemed to work well together.

"Dakota is very funny, and humor on a film set goes a long way," Dornan said. "But she also had the ability to be a very strong dramatic actress. She'd be telling a joke one minute and breaking your heart on-screen the next-so she was perfect."

Despite the success of the movie, some groups, particularly Christian family groups, continue to oppose the film because of the bondage themes. LifeSiteNews.com, a self-proclaimed news site covering the family and other related issues, has started a petition to boycott the sexy film. The petition has more than 34,000 signatures.

Regardless of the backlash, Johnson is happy with her decision to be part of the movie.

"It's just insane," Johnson said of "Fifty Shades of Grey" "I've never experienced anything like it. I don't think anyone has."
