Married and still in love? Sees like a feat these days, especially for A-list celebrities and artists. Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger is trying to prove otherwise.

Asked if Avril is pregnant, the couple answered "No!" but did not give a showbiz answer. According to them, a baby certainly is in their plans.

This is not the only thing they shared.

The couple exclusively shared to PEOPLE magazine how their romance started.  Their story is almost akin to a whirlwind romance. There were no long years of dating nor long months of engagement. The story is simple, but designed to melt anyone's heart nonetheless. According to Lavigne, the first time she met with singer Chad Kroeger was for professional reasons. Kroeger was only supposed to help Lavigne write various songs for her self-titled album. But fate wanted something different from them.

Lavigne shared that working together allowed them to bond "like crazy." They felt like they know each other forever and because writing songs is  such an intimate process, they cannot help but feel this initial bond getting stronger. After their collaboration ended and they have to work with other people, they really missed each other desperately. Avril shared that she cannot resist calling Chad to come back to Los Angeles to do more writing and Chad was equally excited about it. His exact words were, "Hell yeah!"

Soon, they became a secret couple and wrote various ballads to express their love to each other. Songs such as "My Little Secret", "Let Me Go", "Hush Hush" and "Give You What You Like" were created out of their relationship still under wraps then.  The public was astounded when Kroeger suddenly proposed to Lavigne. They entertained the public with a colorful wedding during a wild, three-day party held at a castle located in the South of France on July 2013.

Maybe to make up for how they kept their romance out of the public eye, Lavigne and Kroeger are now more than willing to share how they met, how much they love each other, and what their future plans as husband and wife are.

They shared that following certain rules they personally made ensures their marriage will last. Some of these rules are: not drinking when they are apart, not going to clubs to avoid bad situations, spending more time with each other and in general, just enjoying one another.

Indeed, these seem like wise rules to follow for people wanting to make their relationship work, celebrities or not. Four months have passed since their fateful wedding day, but it is quite obvious that the two are still very much in love and very much open with their relationship. They must be doing something right.
