Emimem's eighth studio album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," was just released on Tuesday, November 5, and the sales projections for the rapper's latest record are already surfacing. It seems like the album is going to earn the spot for the second largest first week sales of the year and will debut at No. 1.

According to Billboard, Industry sources are predicting that "MMLP2" could possibly sell between 700,000 and 750,000 units in its first week and will likely take the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart in the process.

If sales projections are proved to be correct, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" will give Eminem the second highest first week sales of any artist this year, since it is predicted that it will not surpass record-breaking Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience."

According to Nielsen SoundScan, the best first week sales of 2013 belong to Justin Timberlake's latest album, which moved 968,000 copies in its opening week. Also, the previous No. 2 on the sales projection was Drake's "Nothing Was The Same," which sold 658,000 copies.

The projections are based on data including orders from retailers and digital sales data, and they suggest that "MMLP2" will closely follow Eminem's 2010 "Recovery," which debuted at No. 1 with 741,000 first week sales. With his outstanding sales records, this will make Eminem's seventh No. 1 - he will surpass Kanye West and Nas, who each has six on the record, and become the hip-hop artist with the second-most No.1 albums, just behind Jay Z, who has 13.
