Miley Cyrus' MTV European Music Awards appearance on Sunday night sparked an international controversy, literally. She recently took Twitter to respond to all the criticism that she's been receiving so far.

It wasn't the pop star's infamous twerking dance move that stirred up the world, as she did at MTV Video Music Awards back in August: it was the sparked marijuana joint that the "Wrecking Ball" singer smoked onstage at MTV EMAs, which took place in Amsterdam.

It all started when Miley Cyrus, clad in a white high-cut leotard and matching furry vest, came up on stage to receive the award for "Best Video."

"I don't think I'm going to be able to fit that in my purse so I'll put it right here for now," said Cyrus as she was accepting the award and attempting to put it in her clutch.

"I couldn't fit this award in my bag, but I did find this," said the "Wrecking Ball" singer, pulling out the joint that appeared to be made of marijuana.

Ever since her appearance, Miley Cyrus has been getting some heat from the audience who watched the Sunday night's show. However, it seems that the criticism doesn't really affect her and she does not care about what others say about the incident at all.

"Sometimes in life, you just gotta decide to not give AF," Cyrus simply said on Twitter, assumingly in response to all the attentions she's been getting, following her controversial acceptance speech.

Miley Cyrus is set to perform at the American Music Awards on Sunday, November 24, and her upcoming "Bangerz" tour kicks off on Valentine's Day in 2014.
