Over the weekend, Kevin Smith announced via podcast that he saw the new Batsuit Ben Affleck will wear in the Man of Steel sequel, commonly nicknamed Batman vs. Superman. According to Smith, "you have not seen this costume on film before."

On Nov. 9, Smith talked about the new Batsuit on his weekly Hollywood Babble-On podcast where he said that director Zach Snyder showed him a picture of Affleck in his new wardrobe backstage. Smith liked the Batsuit so much that "he instantly bear hugged [Snyder]."

"You have not seen this costume on film before," Smith said. "For a comic book fan, it was mind-bending... Because every other movie does this Matrix-y black armor thing...There wasn't a single nipple on this suit."

Smith said that fans will like the new suit, which will be worn by a more mature Batman than portrayed in earlier films.

"I think everyone is just gonna be like 'Holy Shit!'" Smith said. "It's its own thing. We haven't been down this path before. Even the hardest core [most skeptical] person will be like 'Alright, I'm ready.'"

The nipple-free suit will be a change for some past Batman actors. George Clooney, who played Bruce Wayne in 1997's Batman & Robin, recently discussed the suit with MTV while promoting Gravity.

"The Batsuit was uncomfortable for all of the world," Clooney said. "They put nipples on the damn thing. You know, I didn't even know it until the film came out."

The Man of Steel sequel will feature Henry Cavill reprising his role as Clark Kent and possibly Wonder Woman.
