Ana Brenda Contreras has been working hard on her latest telenovela, "Lo Imperdonable," but it has come at a cost.

The 28-year-old actress has been taking horse riding lessons for the role, but she ended up getting hurt.

"I fell," she said in an interview with "Hoy." "Later, when I was riding, I realized that it was still bothering me a lot."

It was her left arm that she felt discomfort in, and she couldn't ignore the pain as she used that hand to grab the reins. She ended up going to the doctor, who said it was not broken but that she had to give the arm some rest.

She said it's nothing major, and she should be back to normal in a few weeks.

The telenovela star also took some time to talk about her new workout regimen, which she credited for making her slimmer.

"I'm super in love with boxing. It gets rid of all your stress," she said. "I'm eating well. And because of the novela, I am taking fencing classes and horse riding."

Her goal is to always be fit when she starts a new project.

Contreras split from Alejandro Amaya in May 2014, but according to TV y Novelas, the two were spotted having breakfast together in a restaurant.

Now it is rumored that the two have gotten back together, and Contreras has not confirmed or denied if she got back together with the matador.

Contreras, who started her career as a singer, does want to make a return to music. In December, she said she was taking meetings.

"I am meeting with some producers next week. ... But it's complicated," she said, according to TV Notas. "Many people don't know that I started in music in a reality show when I was 15 years old. I would love to [take it on once again] and I don't want to leave it by the wayside."
