Oregon police have nabbed two suspects who allegedly wore underwear over their faces as masks in the robbery of a local mini-mart.

Gage Miller, 21, and Timothy Raybould, 22, are both being held in the Jackson County Jail pending the formal filing of first and second degree robbery charges. Authorities received an anonymous tip alerting them that the two suspects may have been involved in the September 2014 robbery.

According to KPTV.com, police quickly discovered Miller was already in custody on unrelated drug charges. After speaking with him, police took Raybould into custody earlier this month.

Police have not indicated if either man was armed with a weapon at the time of the crime and have not publicly said how much money they are alleged to have stolen.

The incident marks at least the second somewhat strange attempted robbery of a convenience store to dominate news headlines in recent days.

In California, NBC Los Angeles reported police are now searching for a man who recently walked into a convenience store, wearing a white long-sleeved lab coat and a surgical mask over his face as a disguise.

Brandishing a revolver with an estimated 10-inch barrel, the suspect immediately demanded money and threatened to shoot a cashier if she did not comply. The man ended up running away when the worker was not able to open the register.

"He threatened to shoot the cashier if she didn't give him the money," Signal Hill Police Sgt. Brian Levin said. Police said video surveillance captured the man parking his blue Ford Fusion with the paper plates just before he entered the store.

The suspect is described as being between 20 and 30 years old with short dark hair. Anyone with information is urged to call the Signal Hill police department at 562-989-7215.
