"Empire" star Terrence Howard's character Lucious Lyon receives all sorts of threats from TV ex-wife Cookie, played by Taraji P. Henson, and in real life the actor's ex-wife is allegedly threatening to kill him.

TMZ reportedly obtained a search warrant from the Los Angeles police department (LAPD) to find out if Howard's ex-wife Michelle Ghent is behind Instagram threats, including, "I'm watching you! I'm coming for ... LOL. You two won't live to see your children." Investigators believe that the "you two" means Howard and his new wife and restauranteur Mira Pak (also known as Miranda).

Another Instagram post warns Howard's wife, "Your husband is cheating on you! Just thought you should know." The message included a picture of Howard and another woman.

An additional post included the photo of a prescription pill bottle that belonged to Howard with the caption, "Oh dear, look what I found. Do hope you refilled. It's one of the things you can't leave home without."

The LAPD got a judge to sign the search warrant claiming Ghent is behind the postings because the Instagram accounts have only one follower -- her.

Howard claims that he has been receiving nasty social media messages for a year. He filed a police report because he believes Ghent is responsible.

Ghent told TMZ she did not send the messages and claims the LAPD has talked to her and she's no longer a suspect.

The LAPD said the investigation is still open, according to TMZ.

Howard and Ghent were married from 2010 to May 2013, although she filed for divorce in February 2011. The feud between them escalated when Howard went on to marry his third wife in late 2013.

Ghent claims Howard still owes her $500,000. She filed a subpoena in December 2014 to get his contract for the new series "Empire" to find out how much he was earning so that she could get paid.

The actor, 45, already a father of three, and his wife are expecting their first child together, according to Us Weekly.
