The 87th Academy Awards have passed with great moments as entertainers took home their an Oscar.

Neil Patrick Harris gave a great opening number from the ages and had Anna Kendrick and Jack Black join him onstage. Harris later made the crowd laugh when he played out a parody of "Birdman" and graced the stage in just his white underwear.

"Birdman" won big at this year's Oscars. In addition to winning Best Picture of the Year, the film also took home the Academey Awards for Best Director  Latino director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Best Cinematography for Emmaunel Lubezki and Best Screenplay for Inarritu and his fellow writers Armando Bo, Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone.

J.K. Simmons won the first award of the night for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Whiplash."
