Fresh off winning an Oscar for his work with John Legend for the song "Glory" for the movie "Selma," rap star Common was reportedly spotted getting close and cozy with ex-girlfriend Serena Williams late Sunday night.

TMZ reports the once high-profiled couple were seen hanging out together at the Vanity Fair after party.

At one point, Common even let world's reigning top female tennis player hold his trophy, prompting her to post on her Instagram page: "I tried to run with this Common's Oscar, but I got caught."

Williams later removed the post from here page, but that has hardly meant an end to growing rumors the one-time couple could be on the rebound.

The couple previously dated for a little more than two years, splitting in the summer of 2010.

"They just grew apart," a source told Us Weekly at the time. "They are two workaholics who couldn't see each other enough. Things happen."

Just two weeks before their split became public, Common appeared on an episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, telling the host his relationship has "been evolving," adding he became "emotionally involved" watching her work her magic on the tennis court.

Over the years, Williams has hinted that the couple simply didn't make enough time for one another, and she seemed to place most of the blame for that on the shoulders of her ex.

"His schedule is actually worse than mine," she previously told reporters. "He didn't want the responsibility. It's really tough."
