"Furious 7" star Van Diesel and model girlfriend Paloma Jimenez are soon expecting the couple's third child.

People Magazine reports the couple, already parents to 6-year-old Hania Riley and 4-year-old Vincent Sinclair, have confirmed the news. I

n 2008, Diesel told reporters his decision to witness the birth of his daughter was inspired by a conversation he once had with late film co-star Paul Walker.

"I say to Paul, 'You know, should I be in the delivery room or how's that going to work?' And he says, 'You know, so many guys will tell you, "Don't do it... you can't stomach it... you'll never look at the girl the same," [but] it's the best thing you'll ever do in your life.'"

The 47-year-old Diesel later added, "[I] did everything but literally pull her out. I cut the umbilical cord. I was more present than I could ever have dreamed of, but the bonding that that allowed for with my daughter is priceless."

As recently as November, Diesel took to Facebook to again pay tribute to Walker and essentially thank him for being such a trusted and loyal friend.

"He was an important part of my transition into fatherhood," Diesel wrote. "He was a part of so much in my life... long personal talks with my mother or babysitting the Alpha Angel... he took a certain pride in being uncle Pablo... after all, we were filming a scene in FF4 the day she was born, and he being the only one I told, encouraged me to go in and cut the umbilical cord. He was an important part of my transition into fatherhood."

Forty-year-old Walker was killed in a single-car crash in late 2013 where Los Angeles Sheriff's Department investigators said "speed was a factor."

Rescuers arrived at the scene of the accident to find Walker's 2005 Porsche Carrera GT "engulfed in flames." His friend, 38-year-old Roger Rodas, was also killed in the crash.

"Furious 7" hits theaters April 3, 2015.
