Honouring history and tradition has never been so delicious than Thanksgiving Day in America. Every fourth Thursday of November, homes across the United States become fervent and festive with the holiday's preparations.

The main attraction of course, is the Thanksgiving meal. With countless recipes to choose from, however, one could have a problem picking the best Thanksgiving dishes that will please every palate at the table.  Here is the list to end those worries.

Resident kitchen goddess at Oprah.com Cristina Ferrare swears by the delectability of Thanksgiving sides that she prepares for her family: the Creamy Yukon Gold Mash with Scallions Recipe and the Creamed Spinach Recipe. And then of course, there's the main attraction, the turkey. For the stuffing, Ferrare recommends this recipe to make the main dish absolutely heavenly. She says of her concoction, "For me the stuffing is as important as the turkey. If either one comes out too dry or bland it can ruin the whole dinner. I have spent many hours and tried countless ingredients to come up with what I think is the best combination for this stuffing," as posted in Oprah.com.

The Food Network meanwhile, features 48 Thanksgiving turkey recipes from their network shows, which means they could only come from expert hands. One of these is the Perfect Roast Turkey recipe prepared by Ina Garten, a.k.a. the Barefoot Contessa. Other turkey recipes include The Pioneer Woman's Roasted Thanksgiving Turkey, courtesy of Ree Drummond. Those who want a simple turkey preparation may also try out the World's Simplest Thanksgiving Turkey.

Those who want a complete menu, from turkeys to sides, may visit the site Cooking Light, which  features 13 Thanksgiving menus, each one designed to please a particular group's gustatory senses. Whether the family's chief cook would choose the Farmhouse menu's Herb-Roasted Turkey with Cheese Grits over the Jerk Turkey Cutlets with Cranberry-Habanero Salsa from the Thanksgiving Spice menu, one thing is certain: the serving dishes will be licked clean by the end of the evening.

The other essential ingredient for the nearing holiday is the company of people who matter most in you life, as Thanksgiving dinners could never be complete without family or friends to share it with. After all, that's the point of this special day: to celebrate unity as the pilgrims and the Wampanoag did, way back in history.
