Producer Terrace Martin recently detailed Kendrick Lamar's "Untitled" track, which was premiered on "The Colbert Report" last December.

Making his appearance as the final musical guest on Comedy Central's late-night talk show, the Compton emcee offered introspective verses about religion, real estate, cash flow and fame.

"Put a price on my talent, I hit the bank and withdraw / Hit the bank and withdraw, hit the bank and withdraw," he rapped. "Put myself in the rocket ship and I shot for the stars."

"I shall enjoy the fruits of my labor if I get freed today," he continued. "What the black man say? / Tell 'em we don't die / We multiply before taking a swig of his flask."

The "Backseat Freestyle" rapper also discussed why he prefers to be called a writer instead of a rapper.

"I pride myself on that," he said. "It's more storytelling than actually rhyming words together."

In a recent interview with NPR's "Microphone Check Show," Martin proved that K. Dot is indeed a talented writer, revealing the "Untitled" track was created the day before his performance.

"We came with that the day before at rehearsal," he said. "We didn't want to do nothing that's already been done. He didn't want to do 'i.' Let's just, you know, fly out. Let's rehearse in New York and get that energy and do something a little different."

The Los Angeles native then claimed portions of the song were improvised because he and bassist Thundercat forgot the arrangement.

"We had an idea of it a while ago," he said. "But we wasn't sure -- but most of that was done right there -- not right there but the day before. And then something magical and spiritual happened there to where some things that wasn't, you know, rehearsed, happens.

"Because I think me and Thundercat forgot the arrangement and just do what jazz musicians do," he added before praising the TDE lyricist. "And Kendrick, him being like a horn player, he's like Coltrane, man. Mild-mannered, soft-spoken, always practicing. New harmonic approaches, different techniques, falls in -- there's not a mistake on that stage with him."

The "Untitled" track is expected to be featured in Kendrick Lamar's highly anticipated sophomore studio album.
