One of the biggest shows on TV, CW's "The Flash," does not return to networks until March 17, which gives fans a few weeks to question what will happen next in the superheroes' adventures.

The TV series, which first aired in 2014 as a spinoff to the hit TV series "Arrow", tells the story of Barry Allen, who wakes up 9 months after he is struck by lightning and discovers that the bolt gave him the power of super speed. With his new team and powers, Barry becomes "The Flash," the Fastest Man Alive, and fights crime in Central City.

One of the biggest questions that has many wondering is whether the character of Harrison Wells is actually an enemy or a friend. The character's actions have alternated between good and evil throughout the series and as a result, it is very difficult to figure out where the character's arc will go by the end of the series. Some of the previews have shown the character about to suit up in the Reverse-Flash costume, which makes it all the more obvious that Wells will likely be a villain. The Reverse-Flash character appeared in the comics as the rival and enemy of the Flash.

Another question that many wonder is when Ronnie Raymond and Professor Stein, who combine to make up the scorching superhero known as Firestorm, will reappear in the show. Both characters disappeared using superpowers and both characters are essential in the comic books. If they return to the series, they could really help Barry make major strides with the time travel scenario that has already been established.

The other question that has audiences glued to the series is when Iris West will finally find out Barry Allen's true identity. Throughout the superhero genre, the female love interest never knows the identity of the hero and is left to play a femme fatale that the superhero saves. Only in some recent films such as "Thor," "Iron Man" and "The Amazing Spider-Man" was that cliché thrown out. However, by keeping the identity a mystery to the female protagonist, it is likely audiences will return to see when the reveal occurs.

Even more mysterious to the series is the Grodd character. Throughout the series, the animal has been hinted at and shots of the character have been seen. However, it is still questionable how the gorilla-like monster will fit into the overall plot of the show. In the comics, Grodd is a hyper-intelligent telepathic gorilla with the power to control minds and a nemesis to Flash. It will be interesting to see if Grodd is working for Wells and if by the end of the series, the two enemies will team up to try and destroy the Flash...or turn on each other instead.
