Georges St-Pierre has not fought for more than a year, and it remains to be seen whether or not the former Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight champion is still planning to return to the Octagon.

St-Pierre decided to step away from competition after winning against Johny Hendricks in November 2013. The Canadian mixed martial arts superstar said he will not return to the Octagon if UFC will not implement stricter rules on drug testing.

UFC recently announced that they will establish a year-round and comprehensive random drug testing to all fighters starting this year. St-Pierre took to Twitter to praise UFC for making moves to counter use of performance-enhancing drugs, creating speculation that he will return to fight again soon.

"Very happy to learn about the UFC announcing a new comprehensive random PED testing," St-Pierre posted on Twitter last month. "Clearly a big step in the right direction for our sport. Can't wait to get more details about the actual protocol, 3rd party testing agency and new sanctions."

However, UFC president Dana White said that he has not talked to St-Pierre, pointing out that he sees no point in reaching out to a fighter who does not want to fight.

"I haven't really spoken to him," White said in an interview with Ron Kruck of Inside MMA. "I've asked him if he wants to fight and things like that. You know, this is one of those sports -- I say this all the time -- if a guy doesn't want to fight, the last thing you want to do is pressure a guy to fight."

White pointed out that St-Pierre would have reached out to him if the 33-year-old is planning to make his comeback. Without hearing any word from St-Pierre, White said that he will not pressure former welterweight kingpin to return, especially now that it seems like he is ready to retire for good.

"Georges St-Pierre doesn't want to fight. And, if Georges St-Pierre wants to retire? I get it," White added. "He goes out on top, he's made a lot of money, and he's doing movies now. If he's ready to retire, I'm never going to be the guy to pressure him into coming back."
