Fame and fortune seems to be in the way in finding true romance for 1D heartthrob Niall Horan, as the singer has recently disclosed he wants a girlfriend who would see him as a 'normal' person, and not merely because he's a One Directioner, according to MTV.

Horan clarifies that he is single, but he has yet to meet the right girl who would love him as his normal self, and not as a member of the world's hottest boyband, reports the UPI. He confides, "Yes, I don't have a girlfriend. You have to find the one who just sees you as a normal person, which is exactly what I am, and just like you for who you are and not because I'm in One Direction," he told E! News.

Latin Post had earlier reported that Niall had rumour mills going when reality stars Louise Thompson and Andy Jordan revealed the issue about the 1D heartthrob 'snaking' his way into the starlet's life, having a sneaky one-night-stand with the brunette. Thompson has denied the rumours, calling them 'deluded' while ex-boyfriend Jordan swears it's the truth. With Horan now clarifying that he is single, the alleged tryst with Thompson indeed isn't serious, if it were true. Perhaps Louise cannot see past Niall's One Directioner status?

Horan's past girlfriends include Zoe Whelan, an Irish model whom he met at a concert and dated early 2013, and drama student Amy Green, whom he dated in 2012. Horan reportedly had to break it off with both women due to his tight schedule. The 1D hunk seemed to have been more smitten with Whelan, getting back with the model just over a month after they've announced their split in July this year, according to Hollywood Life. The pair had struggled to keep their relationship under wraps because the 1D hottie thought being in the public eye could ruin what they had.

The "Live While We're Young" singer had earlier said he doesn't mind dating a fan, just as long as she's the right girl, reports MStarz.

One Direction is in Los Angeles for the promotion of their new record, "Midnight Memories," which had been earning rave reviews.
