There's no other show that successfully combines ghosts, superpowers and parallel alien universes like Agents of SHIELD does. In "Repairs," the ninth episode of the show's first season, there's a good mix of all these elements, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Screen Crush reports that "Repairs" starts with intriguing scenes, both for the SHIELD agents and for the episode's plot. A woman who appears to have telekinetic abilities is being cornered by an angry man and his attendant at a gas station. A particle accelerator blew up, and being the safety inspector, the woman is being blamed by the two. As the woman becomes agitated, cans fly out from shelves on  their own, and a fire is started. She clearly cannot control her powers. Meanwhile, Agent May and Ward appear to have had a delicious tryst the night before.  Coulson calls them to accomplish the mission for the day, and team manages to capture the careless telekinetic, Hannah Hutchens. Meanwhile, Fitz and Simmons scheme to prank newbie Skye.

The team hauls telekinetic Hannah into the SHIELD bus, earning the ire and violent attention of the spirit that actually haunts Ms. Hutchens. It is revealed that she's no telekinetic at all, just a woman tormented by a man named Tobias Ford. Mr. Ford is a figure that appears and disappear s out of sight, giving the impression that he is a ghost.

Enraged about the SHIELD team keeping Ms. Hutchens detained, ghostly Tobias causes the plane to crash, and Ward fights the spirit. Is it revealed that Mr. Ford is actually someone 'stuck between our world and an alien dimension, possibly exacerbated by the recent Convergence of 'Thor: The Dark World,' as described by Screen Crush.

Finally, Hannah herself pacifies the spirit as it attacks them again, urging him to stop hurting people. Mr. Ford confesses that he was to be blamed for the accident, and that he believes he is being claimed by hell because of it. Agent May urges him to own up to his mistakes and to cross over to the next plane. Mr. Ford backs off, and as the SHIELD team reunites, Skye realizes that the spirit had been haunting and protecting Ms. Hutchens, and not aiming to hurt her,   reveals Collider.com.

The episode closes with Agent May smirking and grinning in satisfaction that her shaving cream prank on Fitz had been successful.
