Britney Spears has been making hits since the year 1999. Her music career has made her into a legend and her personal life has been the center of heavy criticism. Despite the up's and down's, Britney Spears has always been triumphant on one thing and that's making music that people can connect too. Britney Jean is Britney's eighth studio album to be released on Dec. 3rd, but thanks to iTunes First Play, we got to listen to the album now!

"Britney Jean is my most personal record yet," Britney Spears has often said in interviews. That's what any fan wants to hear, since it's the best way to know what is really going on in their idol's mind. Britney Jean consists of 10 tracks that will make you dance and then take you home, where the walls speak of a very vulnerable pain and insecurities.  The album is a mixture of the sexual lyrics that we are used to from Britney but also a very vulnerable and honest side of the pop singer that we don't often see. The 31-year old pop sensation takes us back to the melancholy and sincerity of "Everytime," a song written by Spears as a cry for forgiveness right after her break-up with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake. As our obsession continues, we secretly imagine some of these songs being about Justin and not Jason Trawick (sorry Jason), who Britney broke off her engagement with in January.

So here's my simple review:

1.    Alien-Produced by William Orbit, this song gives us a "lost" Britney that finds herself in the stars and is "thankful [she's] no longer alone". The song has a nice beat and good lyrics, it's also very honest. It get's a "werk b***h rating.

2.   Work B****-It inspires you to work for what you want and uses a "gay term of endearment" as Britney called it, to whip you into shape. It's catchy.

3.    Perfume-Sia cowrote this song in which Britney shows us that she is like any other girl...jealous. Britney reaches deep inside her heart where she admits to being "insecure" and spraying some perfume on her man in order to keep the "vampires", meaning other girls, away. How can girls not relate to this?

4.     It Should Be Easy feat. Will.i.am-This track didn't keep me too interested; it's a club banger that is very fast and simple.

5.     Tik Tik Boom feat. T.I.-Sexual innuendos mixed with T.I.'s bad boy lyrics, it's a good song to hear when you are getting ready for a night out, it will be sure to hype you up!

6.     Body Ache-Another club hit by David Ghetta is an upbeat techno tune that most young people will enjoy. If you liked "Scream and Shout" with Will.i.am, you will like Body Ache.

7.     Til It's Gone-Okay this one is about Justin for sure. "Til it's Gone", talks about "not knowing what you have until is gone", a feeling of guilt and emptiness that we have all felt at some point at the end of a relationship. Werk! One of my fav's.

8.     Passenger-This song is co-written by Katy Perry and you can definitely tell since it sounds like a Katy Perry song. It is passionate and deep, admitting to putting pride aside and letting a man "take the wheel" and take control. It's a great idea for a song since women are often not submissive and following a power trip.

9.     Chillin' With You feat. Jamie Lynn-This is not a good song. It's messy and weird. Jamie Lynn sounds really good but the organization of the song is off. Wish they would have picked a better song to debut such an anticipated duet.

10. Don't Cry-One of the best songs on the album. This is the part after a break-up where as an emotional girl you try to find courage wherever it is hiding, in order to move on and be strong. Perfect ending to this album.

Make sure you check out first play on iTunes and let us know if you will be running out to purchase Britney Jean.
