Thanksgiving did not turn out well for a police officer from the suburban part of Chicago after he was dragged by a car whose drivers were suspects of shoplifting.

Christian Science Monitor reported that another officer fired at the driver who was brought to the hospital due to his gunshot wound in his right arm which happened at Kohl's store within the Romeoville region. The suburban place is located about 30 miles in the southwestern part of Chicago.

The Kohl's shooting happened after the store made a report on a Thursday that there were suspected shoplifters in the store. When the patrol car arrived at the store, one of the suspects ran out of the door and rode the waiting car. The only problem is that the car drove off fast dragging the arm of the officer.

According to the Chief of Police in Romeoville, the unfortunate officer was dragged a bit far. The other police officer tried stopping the driver to stop the car that he even fired around 3 to 4 shots. In the meantime, the officer who got hauled by the car had injuries in his right shoulder.

Some parts of the official statement of the Romeoville Police Chief Mark Turvey with regards to the Kohl's shooting incident are as follows:

"We, then, were able to arrest the driver and the passenger and arrested the third subject who was still inside the store."

Kohl's statement about the matter on the other hand says:

"A police investigation is under way into this matter. We are cooperating with the authorities leading the investigation and are referring all media inquiries to police."

The men behind the shocking Kohl's shooting were named as 52-year-old driver Charles Hinch, 51-year-old passenger Robert Russell and 28-year-old Gerald Chamberlain.
