As the first season of Fox's popular show "Empire" draws to a close next week, rumors continue to swirl of what to expect from the finale as well as from the upcoming next season.

Executive producers Danny Strong and Lee Daniels have hinted at new special guests for next season.

Speaking with Deadline, Strong talked about the next season and what to expect from the finale, without giving up too much. "Empire" was renewed for a second season a week after the show premiered and fans are anxious to know what will happen with the fictional music dynasty of the show.

"We are just starting to talk about Season 2 now," he said, explaining the show will continue the same storytelling so popular with the audience. "I have no clue yet of what we're doing right now."

Strong did rule out a 22-episode season, which could mean another short 12-episode one like the first season.

The show has had many special guests in this short season, ranging from Jennifer Hudson to Courtney Love. Strong said even more celebrities will be joining next season, though he did not name names.

However, co-executive producer Lee Daniels is not shy about giving names. According to Access Hollywood, Oprah Winfrey and Common will appear in the show's second season.

"Yes. Yeah. She's gonna be on it," he said at a screening of "Empire" in Los Angeles. He also confirmed Common will make an appearance.

"Oh yeah, for sure. For absolutely sure. We're gonna have a good time," Lee told Access Hollywood.

The award-winning musician had said previously he would be interested in being part of "Empire."

Daniels had been courting Winfrey, with whom he worked on "Lee Daniel's The Butler," for some time, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

"I tell him: 'Lee, it's not enough that you've taken every viewer possible on Wednesday night. Now you want me to leave my own network?' " Winfrey said and Daniels answers laughing, "I'm wearing her down!"

As for the two-hour long season finale on March 18, fans can expect a lot. Strong told Deadline: "A lot will be resolved, we're not going to Laura Palmer the finale," making a reference to the cliffhanger at the end of the first season of "Twin Peaks."

He called the season finale explosive and surprising. "Alliances will shift and yet it may or may not be completely resolved by the tine its over [sic]," he explained.

He also added that Snoop Dogg and Patti LaBelle will appear in the finale but did explain what roles they will play.
