Jeremy Lin is one of the last people you'd expect to miss time.

Linsanity held the team's longest active streak for games played after suiting up for 98 straight games but that's now history after the Rockets star was sidelined with a grade-1 right knee sprain and contusion, the Houston Chronicle reported. He is expected to miss around two weeks or so.

Lin's teammates were quick to acknowledge the effect his injury will have on the team going forward.

"My running mate, JLin is out for a couple weeks. He's one of our premier playmakers," guard Pat Beverley said to the Chronicle. "Other than James, he's the guy who makes plans on this team. We're definitely going to miss him out there. But AB (Aaron Brooks) has been playing well. Someone has to step up."

Still, Beverley doesn't see Lin missing as much time as the team has estimated.

"That's the way they put this team together. We had the four point guards (Lin, Beverley, Brooks and rookie Isaiah Canaan) at the beginning to be ready for anything. Just getting healthy I guess is something you really can't control. JLin is strong. I don't believe it will be two weeks."

The Rockets have been slapped with the injury bug early on in the NBA's young season. James Harden has missed consecutive games but the reserve players have paced the Rockets en route to an 11-5 record to start the 2013-14 campaign.

"It's the NBA. There's a lot of games," Aaron Brooks said. "You have to be ready to play whenever someone is out. It seems like it's happening more frequently. It kind of messes with your chemistry, but as long as we're winning games, I guess it'll figure itself out. You got guys coming in and coming out, but everybody has been coming in and playing well.  That's most important."
