The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to select a quarterback with their first overall pick in the upcoming 2015 NFL Draft, and the team took a good look at Marcus Mariota on Monday.

Mariota, who is on the radar of several teams looking to get a new franchise player, visited the Bucs on Monday and talked to general manager Jason Licht about the draft, which is scheduled on April 30 to May 2 in Chicago.

According to the Buccaneers, Mariota had a quick tour inside the team facility, which was followed by a face-to-face meeting with Licht, who was also present during Mariota's pro day on Thursday last week. Following the tour and one-on-one meeting with the GM, Mariota spent time watching films with the team's offensive staff.

"This is an opportunity to kind of show how much you know mentally," Mariota said of his visit. "It's going to be one of those times where you get to talk about football. I've been looking forward to it."

Mariota, the Heisman Trophy winner, is considered by many as the likely first overall pick in the upcoming draft, but former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is not too far behind the race.

Mariota said that he is not concerned about being selected first or not as he is just looking to play for a team where he can be a good fit. Following the visit, the 21-year-old said that he is ready to play for the Buccaneers.

"I'd love to play for the Bucs," Mariota declared. "With that being said, if you find the team that wants you, that's going to be the right team. I look forward to marketing myself and finding that team."

Earlier this month, Winston also visited the Buccaneers and had a one-on-one meeting with Licht as well. Licht saw a lot of positives during his conversation with the former Florida State standout, but the GM declared that time that they are not ready to make a decision on who to pick between Mariota and Winston.

Winston, the 2013 Heisman Trophy winner who led Florida State to an emphatic win in the 2014 BCS National Championship Game, is being projected as the likely top pick in several mock drafts, including draft predictions from ESPN analysts Mel Kiper and Todd McShay.
