Terrence Howard has enjoyed great success playing hip-hop artist and CEO Lucious Lyon on the FOX hit show "Empire," and his real life ex-wife is demanding a huge chunk of his salary, reports TMZ.

According to court documents, Michelle Ghent is already supposed to receive $5,800 per month from her ex-husband and now she stands to get even more from his astronomical success on the show.

Ghent receives 21 percent of anything Howard made over $62,500 in the first three months of this year. She claims he earns $125k per episode, and sources tell TMZ three episodes were shot already this year.

If you do the math, it becomes apparent that Howard needs to cut his ex-wife a check for a whopping $65k from his "Empire" earnings. Don't forget, he also stars another show called "Wayward Pines," which debuts on FOX this year. She will get a chunk of that, too.

Their divorce may have been nasty, but no doubt Ghent is cheering on Howard's television success.

Although they have been divorced since 2013, trouble is still brewing between Howard and Ghent. In late February, she was investigated by the Los Angeles police department for allegedly sending him Instagram threats, including, "I'm watching you! I'm coming for ... LOL. You two won't live to see your children."

Meanwhile, Howard and his current wife Miranda, 37, are preparing for the May arrival of their baby boy.

On his 46th birthday, March 11, Howard spoke to Inquirer about the phenomenal ratings of "Empire" and fatherhood.

"This is the best time of my life. There's been... troubles over the years. Finally, I get to this point. I have a very beautiful and understanding wife. Our child is due May 4," Howard said.

Howard said that although he had a son with his first wife, Lori McCommas, he wanted another.

"I remember praying for the family when I was younger, thinking and always feeling like there was another child missing. Now, my son is about to be born. I think that will do really great things because I am a little more grown now. I just became a grandfather again," he said. "My grandson Adrian was born. I don't know if it gets better than this."

Howard was married to McCommas for 13 years until 2005. They have three children: Aubrey, 21, Hunter, 19, and Heaven, 17.

He and Ghent divorced in 2013 and have no children together.
