During his appearance at Art Basel, Kanye West discussed his plans for the next studio album. The Yeezus rapper states that the upcoming LP, which he plans to release by summer 2014, will include less music and focus more on the impact of the content.

In a conversation with architect Jacques Herzog at Miami's Boore Building, West revealed that he wants his next LP to consist of only eight songs in order to reduce "the amount of information" the listeners need.

"I think my next album is going to be eight songs," said the Chicago rapper. "It's just reducing down the amount of information that you need. People say a design is the point where you can't take anything else away. [Yeezus] was very, very designed. I took a departure from radio and popular music in order to get this seat here. If I hadn't made 'Yeezus,' I wouldn't be sitting here with this cool font at Basel right here."

'Ye also discussed his passion for design and background in art, and referred to his music career as "a giant art project."

"My original creative background was fine art," said Yeezy. "By the time I was 14, I was in national competitions for art, and I actually went to school for art. Sometimes I actually forget that. Except for when I tour and I look back at the stage and say, 'Wait a second, I forgot this was the whole trick I pulled on everyone to make them think I was a rapper, a musician or celebrity when the entire time it's all be a giant art project.'"

Kanye West's Yeezus tour is currently slated to make stops in Houston, Chicago, and a bunch of other cities in U.S. before the finale in Toronto, Canada, at the end of the month.
