Disney announced the live-action version of "Mulan" just a few weeks after the company released "Cinderella" and cast for the upcoming film "Beauty and the Beast."

It also comes a few weeks after the studio announced it would be making "Dumbo" into a live-action film.

Disney has not set a release, but it already has a script by Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek. Disney also announced Chris Bender and J.C. Spink, best known for "We're the Millers," will be producing the new adaptation.

"Mulan" will be based on the 1998 film, which was nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe. The original film tells the story of a young woman who disguises herself as a man so she can take her father's place in the army and go to war. "Mulan" is among Disney's most successful animated films, and it even had a sequel, which went straight to DVD.

Disney has not announced casting for the film, but based on how fast the company is working, there should be an announcement in the next few months.

"Mulan" will follow Disney's successful films "Alice in Wonderland," "Maleficent" and "Cinderella." All three films were inspired by classic animated Disney films and have been box-office hits.

Disney will follow up this year's "Cinderella" with a retelling of "The Jungle Book," starring Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley and Christopher Walken. "The Jungle Book" is due out on April 15, 2016.

Disney will also create a sequel to "Alice in Wonderland," which will see the return of all the main characters and will follow a completely new plotline. The movie is due out on May 27,  2016.

Following these two films will be a new adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast," starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens and Audra McDonald. Academy Award nominee Bill Condon will direct, and the film will be released in 2017.

"Dumbo" still does not have a release date, and as a result, "Mulan" should be expected either at the end of 2017 or in 2018.

With Disney's current lineup, it will be interesting to see what other Disney classics are in the works. There is some speculation that a "Snow White" or "Aladdin" live-action films are in the works, but Disney has yet to reveal anything.
