When it comes to Disney, all the movies that roll of their lot are expected to be a family-friendly fare. That may also be the case with the script penned by Guillermo del Toro, but he has said that the new "Haunted Mansion" is not just going to be a comedy, as reported by Variety.

"If you take the children [to see the movie], they will scream," del Toro said in 2010, when the idea to re-boot the film originally started bouncing around.

Now add Ryan Gosling to the mix, who has been seen lately running around with del Toro at the Disneyland theme park riding the Haunted Mansion attraction among others, as reported by The Wrap.

Gosling and del Toro actually have had a closer friendship ever since del Toro moderated the SXSW panel that discussed Gosling's directorial debut on the movie "Lost River."

As a former Mouseketeer, Gosling is no stranger to Disney arena. The Oscar nominated actor has since went on to star in many movies with quite an impressive resume of independent and big-budget films under his belt. Some of the most notable are "Remember the Titans," "The Notebook," "Half-Nelson" (receiving an Oscar nomination) and "Drive."

One can also take a look at the resume behind Guillermo del Toro and be equally, if not more, fascinated. He's the creative mind behind spectacular movies like "El Laberinto del Fauno" (Pan's Labyrinth), "Pacific Rim" and the upcoming "Crimson Peak." He is also the co-creator of the FX television series "The Strain" as well as co-author of the book series of the same name.

For two impressive minds like Gosling and del Toro's with varying plateaus of artistic talent, this re-boot is all but assured to feature a tasteful and mesmerizing experience on the cinema medium. That's not to say that the 2003 version with Eddie Murphy wasn't a fun film to watch, but this team may take it just a little bit further.
