When it comes to superheroes, they either have really cool projectile gadgets, specialized "military style" super-training or larger-than-life superhuman powers. None really apply to Ant-Man.

Scott Lang/Ant-Man (played by Paul Rudd) wears a suit designed by Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas). The suit has the ability to decrease his size (substantially), yet it increases his power. There are no gadgets on the suit that can fire back at a super-villain who attacks him. He has no flying abilities nor can he see through walls or shoot laser beams out of his eyes. His power is just smaller size, which equals more strength, period.

As Entertainment Weekly reported, a good superhero movie needs an exceptional super-villain. One that can equally match his abilities and provide a level battlefield, or even one that can more easily overcome the hero and force him up against heavily stacked odds against him.

With that being said, enter Yellowjacket. He is actually Darren Cross (played by Corey Stoll) a protégé of Pym's who took over his company. All-in-all, he is much the same as Pym, but he doesn't quite possess the moral authority he needs to make good use of his equipment.

The film is directed by Peyton Reed, who says, "Hank Pym's Ant-Man suit doesn't have a single weapon, whereas Yellowjacket is armed with plasma cannons."

He went on to say that Ant-Man is very fast when he's small, which could obviously mean that if he cannot defeat Yellowjacket from matching sheer power, he can out-maneuver him and use his intellect, which is an interesting concept considering Scott Lang was a petty thief before he donned the suit.

But most of the hope and fascination with this project from fans, as noted by Vulture, was the reveal of the film's villain and the suit he would be wearing.

Not to worry, the film is set to release this summer on July 17.
