By far the biggest storyline heading into the 2015 NFL draft has been the question of which quarterback the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will select No. 1 overall.

Former Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston has been the preferred choice by most draft experts, fans and scouts, but recent rumors have been swirling in a different direction.

According to Sports Illustrated, Marcus Mariota's stock is rising dramatically from within the Buccaneers' front office, and Ron Jaworski believes they will draft him No. 1 overall.

"Mariota's stock, remember it was quiet for a while? And there's a reason for that. There's a lull every year until about 30 days before the draft. Now the coaches get involved. Prior to that, it's the scouts, it's the roadies that are filling out the paper work. I've talked to player personnel directors, and I've heard it from a couple or three people that have had conversations with Chip Kelly, and Chip Kelly said, Marcus Mariota will win multiple Super Bowls in the National Football League," Jaworski said.

There's no doubt Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly would love to swoop in and draft Mariota, his former quarterback, in the first round, but it doesn't look like that will happen. The Eagles, who went 10-6 last season, have the No. 20 draft pick, and would have to trade a lot to get Mariota at No. 1 or No. 2.

Winston has had multiple off the field incidents, ranging from stealing, screaming vulgarities at a female student, to even shooting an apartment complex with a BB gun. He was not, however, convicted of the serious rape allegations. If the Buccaneers feel that both Winston and Mariota are both equal on the field, then Mariota would be a better option, because he has never had surrounding controversy in his career.

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was recently convicted of first degree murder in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd. These NFL teams have to know everything about these players, because they are investing millions of dollars in them, and the league is cracking down on off-the-field issues big time.

Neither Mariota or Winston are planning to attend the draft in person.

Winston is viewed as the more "NFL ready" quarterback because he can make all the throws in the pocket. He isn't viewed as the next Andrew Luck or Troy Aikman No. 1 pick prospect, but he has the accuracy. Again, questions arise because of his personal life and whether or not a team should risk giving him a contract. Winston also did throw 18 interceptions last season.

Mariota excelled very much at Oregon, but criticisms arise because of the wide open system he played under. Playing under the spread option offense in college hasn't translated in to NFL success for many notable quarterbacks in the past. However, the Buccaneers could modify their system knowing Mariota is a very productive quarterback when he can make passes from outside the pocket. Mariota threw 105 touchdowns and just 14 interceptions at Oregon.

The 2015 NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 30 in Chicago, Illinois.
