After a decade, HBO is hoping to bring in more laughs with the funny and likable Sarah Jessica Parker who played sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw in its hugely successful HBO series, "Sex and the City."

On Thursday, HBO announced that Parker will be returning to her HBO roots and that the network had officially picked up her half-hour comedy "Divorce" series, Entertainment Weekly reports.

While "Sex and the City" was all about finding love, having good sex and leaning on your sisterhood of best friends, "Divorce" may have the latter, but its dialogue may be a bit different this time around.  At the same time, there still could be some funny or steamy sexual encounters along the way.

The "Sex and the City" star will play Frances, a "woman who suddenly begins to reassess her life and her marriage, and finds that making a clean break and a fresh start is harder than she thought."

Will Samantha, Miranda or Charlotte make an appearance?

"Sex and the City" fans could only hope for that reunion on HBO! Who knows -- anything's possible!

Who else will star in the comedy series, "Divorce?"

"Sideways" actor Thomas Haden Church will play her husband, Robert. "Saturday Night Live" favorite Molly Shannon and Talia Balsam will portray Frances' pals.

Bring on the laughs!

According to Deadline, "Divorce" is written by Irish writer-actress Sharon Horgan and was sold to HBO with Parker attached in her first major TV acting commitment since "Sex And The City." The pilot is directed by Jesse Peretz.

Horgan is also known for her comedy," Catastrophe," which is a British sitcom based on an Irish woman (played by Horgan) and an American man (Rob Delany) who have an affair that leads to pregnancy. It delves into how they ultimately navigate their relationship in the aftermath of a life-changing experience.

As for "Divorce," "Horgan will executive produce through her Merman banner, along with Paul Simms and Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment. Parker and Alison Benson will executive produce through Parker's Pretty Matches Prods."

"Divorce" will reportedly shoot in New York this year. Does that mean Parker will dawn some fabulous shoes on the streets of New York yet again? We sure hope so!
