Beyoncé's surprise self-titled visual album, which dropped exclusively on iTunes on Friday, December 13, now has already sold 828,773 units. The numbers are remarkably impressive for the fact that the project was not at all promoted ahead of its release and it was only available via iTunes.

Beyoncé is indeed the fastest-selling album to debut on iTunes: it has reportedly sold 617,213 units domestically, and sold more than 80,000 units only in its first three hours of availability on iTunes. The Mrs. Carter Show singer became No. 1 in 104 countries as a result of her extremely successful album release.

This marks Beyoncé's best first-week sales record ever, definitely topping her 2006 album "B'Day," which sold 541,000 copies.

In addition, Queen Bey released a mini art feature clip "Self-Titled," explaining her decision of making a visual album.

"I see music," she said. "It's more than just what I hear. When I'm connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dream or my fantasies. They're all connected to the music. That's one of the reasons why I wanted to do a visual album. I wanted people to hear the songs with the story that's in my head. That's what makes it mine."

"Beyoncé" features 14 selections and 17 accompanying videos, and it is currently sold for $15.99. The songs will be available for individual purchase on Dec. 20.
