Rihanna has always been a hardcore fan of Balmain, and she now takes her love of French couture label to the next level: the "Pour It Up" singer is the new face of Balmain's upcoming spring/summer 2014 ad campaign.

"In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world," said the fashion house's creative director Olivier Rousteing.

"When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete," he added, describing Rihanna as an "icon" of his generation who is uncompromising, fresh and modern.

With her black hair tousled and textured into a curly bob, the Bajan singer is seen modeling in two different outfits. The first image shows her sporting a pink houndstooth coat with rounded shoulder and turned-up cuffs. Her waist is cinched in with three chains, one white and two gold, which appears to be a theme throughout the Balmain spring/summer collection. She completed her feminine ensemble with a pair of white lace boots, featuring gold toe caps and heels.

The second ad shows Rihanna's edgier, confident side with double denim -- a denim top detailed with gold chains woven in with silver eyelets and a denim ribbon, and high-waist denim trousers. She also wore matching chunky gold bracelet.

The adverts were shot in New York by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, while Atelier Franck Durand took charge of creative direction for the campaign, with styling by Rihanna's personal stylist Mel Ottenberg. Rihanna is due to appear in magazines from January.
