TV personality and actress Sherri Shepherd has been brought to task by a Judge in Pennsylvania in regards to a child born from a surrogate mother, whom she claimed she has no personal or financial obligation to.

During her marriage to Lamar Sally, the couple had both decided that they wanted a child with a surrogate mother, as reported by Daily Mail. But well into the pregnancy, she had a change of heart. They had started divorce proceedings and she claimed no ties to the child, who currently lives with Sally. She therefore claimed she had no financial responsibility to the child.

But Sally disagreed.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail back in September, he revealed more to the story.

"That is one of the reasons we married after only a year -- because she was ready to do this," Sally said. "I wanted to wait another year or two to get married but having a baby with me was so important to her I said okay, let's do it."

People reports that since the birth of the child, Lamar Sally Jr., the couple had been engaged in a legal battle in regards to this matter. Sally, the child's father, had contested that Sherri's claims to have no responsibility to the child were false.

The baby's legal representative in the case, Craig Bluestein, made a few comments to People on the matter.

"There was some additional evidence put on the record involving some video clips involving Ms. Shepherd," Bluestein said.

Bluestein also cited a clip of Shepherd reportedly "expressing excitement over her and Lamar going to have a baby through the help of a surrogate carrier with no genetic connection."

Outside the courtroom, People caught up to the baby's father.

"I'm glad it's over, but I feel sad what it had to come to. Now I can go back to L.A. and tend to my son," Sally said.

Shepherd did not show up to court for the ruling, and her legal team declined to comment on the matter.
