After Bruce Jenner's candid interview on Friday night with Diane Sawyer regarding his transition from male to female, an outpour of celebrities tweeted their support for the Olympian athlete.

"I'm me. I'm a person. This is who I am. I'm not stuck in anybody's body. My brain is much more female than male," Jenner told Sawyer. "For all intents and purposes, I am a woman."

Immediately after Jenner's announcement, celebrities took to Twitter to congratulate Bruce on his decision, honesty, and his historic moment.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Lady Gaga was among the first of the celebrities to tweet her support. Gaga acknowledged that Jenner's interview with Diane Sawyer is a historic moment and encouraged her followers to support "people like Bruce."

Transgender actress Laverne Cox also tweeted her support and applauded Jenner for "standing in his truth."

Other celebrities who tweeted their love and support for Jenner include Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Ellen DeGeneres, Larry King, Jimmy Fallon, and Russell Simmons, the Huffington Post reports.

Bruce's most recent ex-wife Kris Jenner also tweeted her support even though Diane Sawyer initially suggested that Kris was not in support of Bruce's transition.

Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton suggested the same idea when he tweeted, "Kris Jenner has no comment for ABC news and the #BruceJenner interview. His other two ex-wives give supportive statements."

Kris did not take kindly to Hilton's tweet and immediately slammed the gossip blogger for suggesting that she is against Bruce's transition, Us Weekly reports.

Kris replied, "@PerezHilton f*ck you Perez no one asked me to comment ....and I'm sitting with Bruce now watching this show so let's keep it real...LOL."

Jenner will continue to document his transition on a new E! docu-series. Jenner's E! documentary will be an eight part series that will premiere on July 26 at 9 p.m. EST.

Jeff Olde, the VP of E! programming and development, commented on the series and Jenner's courageous announcement. Olde described Jenner a "incredibly courageous and an inspiration" and said that E! is in full support of his decision and proud of him.

"This series will present an unfiltered look as Bruce boldly steps into uncharted territory and is true to himself for the first time," Olde said.
