The Season 12 Episode 24 season finale of "NCIS" is being teased as perhaps ending in "the death of an important team member."

One thing is certain: It won't be Anthony DiNozzo. Deadline reports Michael Weatherly has signed a new, two-year deal with CBS to continue playing that character and to develop new projects for the network through his recently formed Solar Drive Productions.

Weatherly joins fellow cast members Sean Murray (Timothy McGee) Rocky Carroll (Leon Vance), Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto) and David McCallum (Dr. Donald Mallard) in recently inking new deals with CBS, and setting the stage for the entire cast to return to the show next season.

As for the "Neverland" entitled finale, CBS reports the team dives into a case involving a global terrorism group that is hiring teenagers over the Internet. Before the night is over, the website adds, the episode could end in an "emotional and surprising loss."

Mimi Rogers is slated to guest star in the episode as a CIA agent investigating what Carter Matt deems "a conflict large enough to it span "multiple branches of government and law enforcement."

In recent episodes, Jamie Bamber guest starred as Jake Malloy, Bishop's (Emily Wickersham) NSA attorney husband. Matt Jones also reprised his role as Special Agent Ned Dorneget, this time returning to aid the team with their investigation into the murder of a Navy Intelligence Officer.

Spoiler TV also reports the recent "Troll" episode also featured an "emotional" Gibbs (Mark Harmon) sympathizing and dealing with homeless vets in the Nation's Capital. Gibbs' tender moments play out right around the same time Abby feverishly tries to help a homeless woman reconnect with her family.

The last several episodes have been a time of emotional strife for much of the crew, with DiNozzo also recently expressing his growing disdain for McGee after he is tabbed as the new face of "NCIS" recruitment.
