After Univision's "El Gordo Y La Flaca" won a Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Award, Raul de Molina expressed his gratitude to the now-fired, former host Rodner Figueroa.

Figueroa was fired by Univision for a comment he says was meant for a makeup artist and not First Lady Michelle Obama. Figueroa analyzed pictures of Paolo Ballesteros, who is famous for using makeup to make himself look like celebrities. When Ballesteros picture as the first lady was shown, Figueroa said the picture looked like a character from the movie "Planet of the Apes."

After the comments, Univision fired Figueroa. Figueroa and his lawyer contend that he was illegally fired for trying to form a workers' union and that it was an unjust firing.

De Molina took a moment to thank Figueroa for helping the show win its Emmy.

"Congratulations @RodnerFigueroa because you were part of the program that won the #Emmy for @ElGordoyLaFlaca," De Molina said Sunday on Twitter.

Figueroa has been absent from social media since his firing but recently posted a picture of the blue sky and water on Instagram, we reported last week. Figueroa is back on Twitter too, responding to De Molina's tweet.

"Thank you @rauldemolina Congratulations!!! To you and @LiliEstefan and all of the team!!!" Figueroa tweeted Sunday in reply to De Molina's tweet.

Figueroa is not the only one who insists he should not have been fired from the show. Actress Raven-Symoné says that the incident was blown out of proportion and that some people do look like animals.

According to Us Magazine, Symoné said on "The View" that she thinks she looks "like a bird."

"So can I be mad if somebody calls me Toucan Sam?" Simone asked.

"El Gordo Y La Flaca" ended up winning two Emmy's at the show Friday. It won an award for "Outstanding Entertainment Program in Spanish" and an award for "Outstanding Daytime Talent in a Spanish Language Program," which was given to Carlos Calderon.
