James Rodriguez celebrated his team's crucial victory against Celta Vigo as Real Madrid remain within striking distance of FC Barcelona in the race for the Spanish La Liga title.

Rodriguez helped Real Madrid score a 4-2 win against Celta Vigo on Sunday at Estadio Balaidos, giving his team the much-needed victory after rivals FC Barcelona, who scored a 2-0 win against Espanyol on Saturday. The win increased Real Madrid's total points to 79 in 33 games, now just two points behind league-leading FC Barcelona.

Rodriguez, who scored his team's third goal in the 43rd minute of the match, posted a photo on Instagram following their big victory.

Gran victoria en Vigo. Hasta el final vamos Real! Great win tonight in Vigo! Nothing will stop us! #HalaMadrid

Nolito gave Celta Vigo a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute of the match, but Toni Kroos answered in the 16th minute before Javier Hernandez gave Real Madrid the lead in the 24th minute.

Santi Mina scored the equalizer for Celta Vigo in the 28th minute, but Rodriguez netted a goal to break the tie before the half. Chicharito scored his second goal in the 69th minute of the match, which secured the victory for Real Madrid.

Rodriguez has now scored 11 goals and has tallied 10 assists in 24 games for Real Madrid this season, following his lucrative move to Bernabeu last summer.

"We were worthy of the three points and they will help us to keep fighting to the end. Carlo Ancelotti asked us to control the game more in the second half and we did," Rodriguez said via Marca. "They like to play football too and they leave gaps in behind. We're more dangerous when that happens."

Rodriguez also heaped praises on Chicharito's recent performances, which came after reports indicated that he might not return to Real Madrid after the loan deal with Manchester United that will end after the current season.

Rodriguez said that he is happy for Hernandez, who has been making his mark as of late after getting limited opportunities to display his skills earlier in the season.

Aside from the two goals he netted on Sunday, Hernandez scored the game-winner against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday that gave Real Madrid a spot in the Champions League semifinals, where they will face Juventus.

"Chicharito is doing really well," Rodriguez said of Hernandez. "He's training hard and I'm happy for him. It's so fair what is happening to him now, he has been patient."
