Daniel Bruhl has revealed that he will be in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War."

The actor revealed that he will play Baron Helmut Zemo in the movie. In an interview, he said "I think I can tell you that without being thrown into Marvel prison. For the first few days I'll walk around like a little boy, just amazed by the megalomania of it. It's such a huge project. We could do 20 films with the budget."

Marvel Studios had originally announced the casting of the Spanish actor in November and speculation about his character began afterwards. Bruhl will be playing the main villain in a film that has been nicknamed "Avengers 2.5."

The film will see the return of Brock Rumlow, also known as Crossbones, and it will also see the return of the Winter Soldier. The film will include Iron Man, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Black Panther, Hawkeye and Spider-Man.

According to early reports, the film follows the events of the "Age of Ultron" and sees the governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.

In the comics, Baron Zemo was Heinrich Zemo, a prominent Nazi scientist who perished in a battle against Captain America in World War II. Brühl's character is Helmut Zemo, the son of Heinrich, and he seeks to avenge his father's death. With so many characters and so many plot lines in the film, it will be interesting to see where Baron Zemo lands. It will also be interesting to see how Marvel ties up the Winter Soldier storyline, as well as the Crossbones story.

"Captain America: Civil War" will begin filming in the coming weeks and is expected to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
