"Orange Is the New Black" star Uzo Aduba, who is best known for her Netflix character Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren, is indeed crazy -- crazy proud, that is -- of her mother, whose resilience, determination and faith in her helped her forge ahead.

In a Mother's Day tribute, Aduba, a Boston native, commended her mother, who came from Nigeria in search of a better, more peaceful life that would be full of opportunities for her children.

When Aduba was nominated for her first Emmy in 2014, and won for Best Guest Actress in a Comedy, she had her mother by her side.

"There was no one else that I could have even thought of, dreamed of, wanted to have beside me," she told Entertainment Weekly.

"My mom has done everything that someone hopes that someone might do when it comes to supporting your child," Aduba added. "Times when I did not believe, she believed enough for the both of us. She is my number one fan. My greatest advisor. My greatest supporter."

Aduba's mother moved to the U.S. from Nigeria, where she "battled polio" and "witnessed war firsthand," according to an essay Aduda penned for The Daily Beast in August, EW pointed out.

"When my parents moved here from Nigeria, their American dream was for their children to be able to live their dream," Aduba told EW. "She believed in me and supported me going into this field. She knew it was going to be hard, but she just kept telling me all the time, 'Zo Zo, you can do it. I believe in you. You just have to keep going.'"

The 33-year-old Emmy and SAG Award winner has indeed kept going and recently ran the Boston Marathon, proving that her physical strength is also up to par with her inner strength.

"I love that lady," Aduba said. "I cannot say enough about how much I love that woman."

As for "OITNB," fans of "Crazy Eyes" are gearing up for her return.

In a scene from the "OITNB" Season 3 trailer, which is debuting on June 12, "Crazy Eyes" shows off her eccentric writing skills based on a weird human and alien encounter that's considered to be "obscene" and "sexual."

"It's not just sex. It's love," "Crazy Eyes" explained. "It's two people connecting with four other people and aliens."

There is sure to be more classic one-liners on the horizon for "Crazy Eyes," who commands the small screen.

The returning cast of "OITNB" includes Taylor Schilling, Lori Petti, Laura Prepon, Diane Guerrero and Jackie Cruz, among others, as well as the arrival of Ruby Rose's Stella Carlin as well as Lori Petty's Lolly, who had a brief appearance in season two.

Also, it appears that Daya (Dascha Polanco) and Bennett (Matt McGorry) continue their steamy affair.

"Orange Is the New Black" returns June 12 on Netflix.
