Disclaimer: if you're all hot and bothered by scenes of flesh colored lingerie, this video will certainly be a thorn in your side. Conversely, if you're a fan of pixie cut hair, you'll love it.

With her #1 album Bangerz spawning all sorts of hits, Miley Cyrus has really proven that she's the most important act in music today. With 9 million plus views in just 24 hours, Adore You is another success for the controversial performer and it's clearly sending the web into a frenzy. Adore You is a sexy look inside the mind of a girl who just wants to be loved, and Cyrus showcases her talents as a singer throughout. She proves that she doesn't need flashy VMA or American Music Award style performances and countless theatrics to keep an audience entertained. Her loud outfits and gyrating torso often overshadow her strong voice, but there's no denying that she's has got the goods.

The spartan, stripped down look of Adore You adopts a lot of the same stylistic choices that made Cyrus's previous music video Wrecking Ball one of the top viewed YouTube clips of the year. Both videos are very minimalist. They feature perfectly white backgrounds and simple set design. The one major difference is that no destruction takes place this time around. Cyrus is done venting about the past. She trades in her sledgehammer for a video camera and documents her hopes, wants and desires. The entire video has a comforting, ethereal look and feel.

The 4 and a half-minute video consists almost entirely of close up body shots. Cyrus lies on a seemingly never-ending bed looking for any excuse not to get up. The editing is also restrained. There are no 2-second shots where your brain goes haywire trying to determine what is going on onscreen. The camera also doesn't draw attention to itself. Instead it just gracefully floats in the air and lets Cyrus be the center of attention.

Cyrus caresses herself and sings along to a calming, hypnotic melody. Without the visuals of a nearly naked girl in bed, one might be lulled into a deep sleep thanks to the pleasing sounds throughout the video. A set change towards the end of the video sees Cyrus trade bed sheets for bubbles. Wearing a sheer sweater while taking a bath leaves nearly nothing to the imagination.

The lyrics don't disappoint either. "Baby, baby, are you listening. Wondering where you've been all my life. I just started living," sings Cyrus. The words are uttered powerfully, yet sadly. The lyrics obviously refer to Cyrus' ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus dumped the Australian actor after numerous cheating allegations cropped up against him. Miley is completely alone in Adore You and that, in and of itself, is a powerful statement. She's showing the world that she can survive on her own, but that love is nice while it lasts.

Adore You will win Miley a lot of fans because it's romantic without being overly sexual or unnecessarily provocative. Clearly Cyrus isn't camera shy or afraid to show off her toned body, but for a supposedly wild child she appears all grown up in this video. For instance no tongue wagging or twerking takes place. Yes, she appears to be moaning as if she was having sex a few times, but it all seems tasteful. All in all she gives a more mature performance than she has in the past. She relies on her voice to tell her story, rather than let her actions undermine her credibility as a serious artist.
