As everyone knows Apple Inc. is busy working on the latest and greatest iPhone. When it's coming out and what the feature set will entail is harder to pinpoint. Two release dates stick out in everyone's mind, March and September 2014. Releasing the successor to the best selling iPhone 5s might seem odd - that move could possibly cannibalize the older phones sales. However Android phones are larger than Apple's 4" Retina display on the 5s and sell like hotcakes. The Samsung Galaxy Note III with a 5.7" Full HD display has moved 10 million plus units in several months.

So a March release date would help Apple win market share in the large phone (phablet) sector. The only two-iPhone sizes have been 3.5" and the current 4" model. If the iPhone 6 doesn't feature a wallet-bursting screen size, iFans will certainly grow even more envious of the Android phones on the market. So what type of screen are we talking about here? Could Apple release a 6" phone or will it settle for a 5" screen? Apparently Apple will stay with a relatively small 4.8" panel which will be taller and wider than the current 5s. That panel will only be .2" smaller than the iPhone's chief rival the Samsung GS4. That is pretty negligible, and many users frankly wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

In terms of features the iPhone 6 will be a sensation! It will feature a screen so strong that it's capable of chipping concrete without getting a scratch on it. Thanks to sapphire glass, a super strong manmade material, the iPhone's display will easily outpace the durable, yet still prone to cracking Gorilla Glass material. This type of ultra-specialized glass is currently used in the 5s' fingerprint scanner. Another welcome feature would be NFC. With this piece of technology a person could use their phone to check out at a register. A retina scanner is also a possibility, but with a fingerprint scanner already in use, this seems like overkill.

Expect the iPhone 6 processor to be a slightly improved variant of the current A7 chip found in the iPad Air and 5s. Titled A7x, the chip should feature quad core technology to go along with improved quad core graphics. The extra processing power will be needed to drive the larger, higher resolution display. Battery life should be slightly improved, however, due to a larger battery (since the phone itself will be physically larger).
