It appears Hillary Clinton was serious when in her presidential campaign ad placed a heavy focus on women and minorities getting ready to embark upon new and exciting roles.

As reported by BuzzFeed, the 2016 Democratic presidential hopeful has reportedly tapped Xochitl Hinojosa, a young Latina that was once singled out as one the most stylish people in D.C. by the Washingtonian, to be the new director of coalitions press.

Hinojosa, the daughter of Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa, comes to the job with nearly two years experience serving at the Department of Labor under Secretary Tom Perez. And she has definitely put in her time by working at the Department of Justice’s civil right division.

Some of her duties at the Department of Labor focused on such vital work-related issues as paid leave and the minimum wage.

In her new job, Hinojosa will be overseeing Hispanic, black and women-related media. She will be working close with the communications team as well as serving as a link between field staffers organizing these media efforts on the ground.

Maria Cardona, a Democratic strategist was very pleased with the announcement of Hinojosa’s new title, saying,“It’s a rare mix to be able to get someone like her with experience, someone who can do it well and do it with grace.”

“I was thrilled when they told me her name,” added Cardona.

The decision to bring in more Latinos to high levels in the upcoming Democratic campaign has been in part a strategic one, as the left has good reason to be worried that the Republican Party -- which includes Jeb Bush, who is not only fluent in Spanish but has a Hispanic family, as well as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio -- might take away some much needed Latino votes.
