It has been confirmed that Israeli actress Gal Gadot has been cast to play Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman. This will be a follow up to the Man of Steel movie and has yet to be titled officially.

Gadot has reportedly begun an intense workout regimen. "It's the physical preparations that I'm starting now," Gadot says."A very serious training regimen - Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian. A thousand and one things. I'll gain body mass."

It has been reported earlier by Latinpost.com that Joaquin Phoenix could be playing Lex Luthor and other A-list actors that may be appearing on set could include Denzel Washington as well as Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston.

Gal Gadot is an Israeli born actreess and is most recently known for her role in the Fast and the Furious franchise. According to Hollywood reporter, she beat out Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion) and Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) for the role.

During a recent interview, the modern Wonder Woman seems unaffected by the criticisms regarding her smaller physique and responds, "I represent the Wonder Woman of the new world," she says, "Breasts anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine." She pointed out that Wonder Woman is Amazonian and historically accurate Amazonian women were one-breasted, "So, if I'd really go 'by the book,' it'd be problematic."

The Batman vs. Superman film is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2013 and will have Amy Adams reprise her role as Lois Lane. Adams will be joining Gal Gadot as well as Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman.

In related news, the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman has raised serious criticisms and negative reactions. Affleck has spoken about the role and states his Batman will be more mature. He will be a redefined Batman. "It will be an older and wiser version," Affleck told Playboy magazine.
