Gennady Golovkin will put his middleweight titles and perfect record on the line against Willie Monroe Jr. on Saturday night at the Forum in Inglewood, California.

Golovkin, who holds an impressive 32-0 record with 29 of his victories coming by way of knockout, will defend his World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization middleweight titles.

The 33-year-old world champion is coming off an 11th-round knockout victory against Martin Murray in their title fight in February in Monte Carlo, Monaco. The win against Murray was his 19th straight win by knockout.

Golovkin is confident that he will keep his titles and protect his unblemished record, but the Kazakh said that he is not expecting an easy win against his southpaw opponent. He said that that he decided to face Monroe because he is a southpaw, and fighting a southpaw is a big challenge for him.

"I want to fight a southpaw because I want to show everybody that I can beat any style, it doesn't matter," Golovkin said via ESPN. "Anybody, strong guy, tall guy, short guy, just anybody. I'm very anxious. This is a big test for me. I remember a lot of fighters, like Canelo, Cotto, and a lot of great champions have problems with southpaws."

The fight will be a crucial one for Golovkin as he is being linked to fights against big-name fighters in his next fights. Trainer Abel Sanchez said that they want to secure big-money fights in the future, but they know a loss on Saturday night will be a huge blow for Golovkin.

Predictions

Because of his perfect record and string of knockout victories, Golovkin is tipped to win against Monroe on Saturday night. Most analysts are also convinced the power puncher will walk away with another knockout victory.

Monroe, who holds a 19-1 record with six knockouts, knows he is a heavy underdog on Saturday night, but the 28-year-old New York native is determined to prove his doubters wrong.

"I've been an underdog my whole life so this is nothing new to me," said Monroe, who scored a unanimous decision win against Brian Vera in January. "It's been a long road for me to get here. I won the Boxcino tournament, I beat Vera and I'm ready for the challenge of the best middleweight in the world."

Where to Watch and Live Stream

The fight card, which will also feature the flyweight showdown between Roman Gonzales and Edgar Sosa, will start at 10 p.m. EST and will be shown live on HBO. Fans can also catch the action via BoxNation.
