A new Need for Speed title will be released soon. The full reveal for the upcoming title in the popular car racing franchise has been set this month. Before Electronic Arts comes out with the full details, here are some of the interesting things about the upcoming title you need to know.

The new Need For Speed title returns after a year of hiatus. In 2014, the CEO of Electronic Arts Andrew Wilson said during its fourth quarter financial meeting that the firm would not come out with a Need for Speed game. Wilson cited EA's desire to "ensure we're delivering a high-quality experience for Need for Speed players next year" as the reason.

In May 2014, Ghost Games General Manager and Executive Producer Marcus Nilsson wrote on the game's official website that development for the next iteration of the video game has already started. He also assured players that the firm would listen to players' comments and feedback as they work on the game.

"From now on, you'll be hearing from us regularly because we need your help to shape the future of Need for Speed," Nilsson wrote.

According to IGN, Ghost Games extended a lot of effort into collaborating with fans and getting their feedback. The move is part of EA's branding to "engage fans in a transparent dialogue about development." The general manager admitted that putting fans' feedback in consideration is one of the things "dramatically different" with the new game.

The official Facebook page of Need for Speed told fans on Monday to subscribe to its official YouTube channel in time to see the "first look at the return of NFS" scheduled on Thursday.

Polygon noted that while the image in the photo uploaded for the NFS announcement was dark, Photoshop alteration showed two cars in a setting that was reminiscent of one of the famous titles from the franchise -- Need for Speed Underground.

The site pointed further evidence that a return to the NFS Underground is a possibility by citing another status update from the game's official Facebook page: "We've gone old school this weekend, hands up if you've been playing this recently?"

Further details about the untitled Need for Speed game would be shown on Thursday. EA has yet to announce an official release date, but it is expected to come out this year.
