Since the reboot of "The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" has been confirmed, details about the upcoming movie, its cast and plot have been scarce.

Filming is yet to begin for the movie, but it seems as though the zords -- war machines that the characters use in fighting huge monsters -- are already in development. A concept art reportedly for the Red and Pink Rangers' zords have circulated the Internet recently.

Bleeding Cool revealed the rumored concept art on its page. According to the site, the photos show Pink Ranger's zord, which seems to be inspired by a Pterodactyl dinosaur, judging from its shape. The other photo seems to be ideas for Red Ranger's zord, but it's not clear what inspired it.

The site said it is unsure if the reported concept arts leaked are legitimate. There was little news about it, which made the writer doubt its authenticity.

However, the site pointed out that it first came across the leaked photos in Movie Pilot a few weeks ago, but upon checking, the post had been taken down, as it does not exist anymore.

Meanwhile, Lionsgate, which is set to release the film, has yet to formally announce the cast of the upcoming movie. Hollywood actors Liam Hemsworth from "The Hunger Games," Chloe Grace Moretz from "Kick-Ass" and Taylor Lautner from "Twilight" have all been linked to the reboot film in a fantasy cast created by MTV News.

If that happens, then either Hemsworth or Lautner could be cast as the lead as the two have already earned a huge following in their own right. Moretz, on the other hand, could portray the Pink Ranger since Yellow Ranger is originally Asian in the TV series.

Former Green Ranger original Jason David Frank has also been rumored to have a cameo in the upcoming movie.

The Wrap reported that "Project Almanac" director Dean Israelite is set to take the director's chair in the movie. A self-confessed fan of the Power Rangers, he has been taken in to helm the movie with a limited budget, it seems -- a success he was able to achieve with "Project Almanac."

"X-Men: First Class" and "Thor" screenwriters Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller would pen the script for the movie.

It was initially set that the reboot film would hit theaters on July 22, 2016, wrote Den of Geek. However, delays affected the production and the movie would be shown on Jan. 13, 2017 instead.
