Wednesday’s Powerball is here. And since no one won the grand prize last Saturday – when the winning numbers were: 9, 15, 17, 31 and 43; with Powerball 16 – all that money has once again rolled over and is now at $154 million, with a cash value of $96.4 million.

There were 530,202 regular Powerball winners and $4,406,157 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are actually nine ways to win at Powerball. Players have a 1 in 175,223,510.00 chance of the Grand Prize, and a 1 in 5,153,632.65 of winning $1,000,000.

So the chances of winning the big money are small but people actually win – sometimes losing friends after the fact.

Time reports that a 49-year-old fellow Powerball player from Australia has just been accused by his former work buddies of taking off with about $12.5 million in lottery money that they believe they should be in on.

Baron was supposed to buy tickets on behalf of the syndicate of 16 people that had been entering the lotto since 2009. Then he ended up just winning big on his own with a ticket that he said he had purchased separately.

Right after Baron won he called in sick and took the day off work. The next Monday he resigned and told a few co-workers he had a medical condition.

According to Age, the guy wasted no time spending his new cash, buying a new home, paying off a $200,000 BMW convertible and buying property for his son.

When the syndicate members caught wind of Baron’s windfall they decided to take Supreme Court action against their former pal, who had collected $20 each week from them every week for years.

The syndicate members are alleging that each member is entitled to more than $1 million.

Talking about what he will do with all his new cash, Baron said, "I'm going to share the prize money with my family."

“I'll make sure it doesn't change who I am, but I'll definitely be able to live a better lifestyle, with a few more toys," he added.
