In no world is this okay, and it's never going to be okay again: word has been released that Billy Ray Cyrus, erstwhile 1990's country music one-hit wonder and father of Miley Cyrus, is releasing a hip-hop version of his sole hit, "Achy Breaky Heart," proving that it's not just Miley that's lost her damned mind.

According to The Independent, the confirmation came from the most unlikely source of all: Larry King. He took to his Twitter to announce that the former country music star will be releasing an updated, hip-hop version of his annoying hit. "Just spoke with @billyraycyrus on the phone - he's recorded a hip-hop version of 'Achy Breaky Heart' - he's excited about it & so am I!," he wrote.

Initially, Billy Ray was content with letting his daughter hold the family flag of fame. "She's a very smart young lady," he said of Miley. "She wanted to shake things up a little bit and... mission accomplished."

"Despite his loyalty remaining strong in the face of Miley's critics, the singer added: 'She wanted to go from a teenage superstar to a young lady, she's got a lot to say musically.

"'It's hard for me at times, it's still Miley. It's still my little girl, it's still my daughter,'" writes The Independent.

Digital Spy, in the meantime, has unearthed a 1990's era performance of Billy Ray performing "Achy Breaky Heart" in all his mullet-ed glory, looking a LOT like Robin Thicke. (So, when you think about it, Miley's performance at the VMA's featured her performing all types of sexual acts on someone who looked like her dad. Which, of course, is totally normal... right?)
