Alien chasers are saying that the lights they saw and recorded on video in a remote area of Russia are UFOs. The lights were recorded and put on YouTube, Express reports.

The bright lights were said to be hovering around the remote Astrakhan region of Russia around dusk time.

Those who spotted the lights also recorded them and were surprised to see that the lights were arranged next to each other and staying in one place.

When camera operators panned out it appeared that the lights were hovering over a road by a lake in the sparse countryside.

More than 100,000 people have viewed the videos on YouTube, and many believe that the lights are indeed unidentified flying objects.

One commenter on YouTube said, "I think this could be the real deal."

"A number of reports of UFO sightings and personal witness reports link back to what is pictured here," the commenter continued.

Skeptical observers dismissed the lights as Chinese lanterns or flares.

More than five minutes of footage of the strange lights has been posted on YouTube. In some of the videos, the lights appear to flicker and even twirl at one point in the footage.

The video looks like it is being shot on one side of the lake and the lights look like they are on the other side of it. Several lights that seem like they are in a pattern appear to be stationary can be seen in the footage.

UFO Sightings Daily, a website that regularly posts updates on reported UFO sightings is convinced that the footage of these UFOs is actually old footage from a sighting back in 2013. The website shows a video with a timestamp of April 25, 2013 stacked on top of the same footage with a May 2015 timestamp. UFO Sightings Daily says that the U.K. Mirror website was "fooled" into thinking that this footage was from this year.

UFO Sightings Daily does agree that the lights seen in the sky are UFOs, but just wants readers to know that they think the footage is old.
