With the European football season almost over, reports of players considering their future in teams outside their current club have been going around. Among those rumored to be heading across the pond to MLS are Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo and Chelsea great Didier Drogba.

The 36-year-old still has an important match to think about with his team up against FC Barcelona in the Champions League Final on June 6. After their win against Real Madrid in the semifinals, the Italian midfielder was asked if he had plans of leaving his club and his answer was vague.

"Let's win it first and then we'll see," Pirlo told Football Italia.

Many speculated that the veteran footballer has one foot outside the door of his current club where he had been since 2011. The star still has one more year in his contract but an Italian football site hinted that there is a possibility that the player would head to the MLS.

According to David Amoyal of Gianluca Di Marzio, New York City FC has shown interest in the player for their summer transfer window.

Pirlo, on the other hand, seemed to be "very intrigued by the possibility of playing in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty," wrote the site, and prefers to play in the United States instead of the Middle East.

El-Jaish, a club in Qatar, was also reported to have actively pursued the player but its club secretary general, Dr.Thani Al-Kuwari, denied the rumor in April.

There have also been reports claiming that Liverpool is looking to replace retired player Steven Gerrard with Pirlo.

Pirlo has yet to comment on the rumors.

Meanwhile, a Premier League player is also reportedly headed for the concrete jungle.

Reports have come up that NYCFC has also offered Didier Drogba a slot on its team following the uncertain future the Ivory Coast national has with Chelsea.

Drogba's contract will expire at the end of the season but he has yet to receive an extension from the club, reported The Telegraph. As the player is intent on having one more season in professional football, he has considered options outside the Blues.

"I want to play for at least one more season and in order to play more football I feelI need to go to another club. All the fans know my love for Chelsea and I hope to be back here in the future in another role," Drogba told the Chelsea website.

Former teammate Frank Lampard is already set to transfer to NYCFC in July. Should Drogba's deal push through, he could be playing side by side with both Lampard and ex-Barcelona player David Villa in the MLS season.
