"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is already busy filming, but for a while, there were no word on the franchise's villains, except for a confirmation that Brian Tee will portray Shredder. Recently, reports have revealed that Shredder will be joined by the iconic criminal duo from the comic source material, Bebop and Rocksteady.

The sequel’s antagonists were seen on the set of the film for the first time, and some were surprised to see that Bebop and Rocksteady were not mutant zoo animals. In the classic cartoon series that was first popularized in the 1980s, the duo was represented by humanoid forms of a warthog and a rhinoceros, respectively.

As seen in the set photos that were posted on Daily Mail, Bebop is being played by Gary Anthony Williams. The images also revealed that Rocksteady will be portrayed by WWE star, Sheamus, whose real name is Stephen Farrelly.

They may not have been animal versions, but their costumes, down to their hairstyles, were clear nods to the Bebop and Rocksteady characters that were featured in the classic cartoon series.

It is highly likely that they will eventually both undergo mutations, which will turn them into the infamous humanoid warthog and rhinoceros that “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” fans are familiar with. Their mutation could turn out to be a pivotal subplot for the sequel, or the next one, especially with rumors that Krang will be among the film’s villains, according to Cinema Blend.

The lead antagonist, however, was dressed in his full leather gear that is battle-worthy, complete with Shredder’s signature spiked arm guards. In the photo, Tee was not yet wearing Shredder’s scary headpiece, which was most likely the last piece of the costume that he has to put on before filming ensues.

Plus, shortly after it was announced to the public, Brittany Ishibashi was also spotted on set as she was selected to portray the role of Shredder’s daughter, Karai. She was dressed in a female-oriented version of her father’s battle gear. Her body suit was perfect for her svelte figure with leather on her chest, shoulders, arms, and legs.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" also stars Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, William Fichtner, Will Arnett and many more. Directed by Dave Green, the film is set to hit theaters in June 2016.
